A U.S. Marshall (Kate Beckinsale of the Underworld series) is working in Antarctica when a murder, the first on the continent, takes place. Now she must track the killer down in the extreme conditions. There is really not a lot going for this movie, other than Beckinsale, who is a good actress (and not bad to look at either).
Even she seems to be phoning in this one though. The rest of the cast is pretty boring, as are the dialogue and most of the action. There are several scenes that feel like they were thrown in just to take up some time. There is a little bit of gore and two scenes that made me cringe a bit. There are some pretty beautiful aerial shots of the mountains and northern lights in the movie too, which may be overlooked in a good film but stand out wonderfully in a film as boring as this. I remember when this came to the theatre I almost paid to see it--I’m really happy that did not happen.
